Natural fiber rewards a little care. Here's what each one needs.
19 Momme Charmeuse Silk
- Hand wash cold, pH-neutral detergent
- Never wring — press gently between two towels
- Lay flat to dry, away from sun and heat
- Iron on low, reverse side, slightly damp, with a cloth barrier
- Store on a padded hanger or folded flat, away from light and humidity
Non-stretch lace
- Hand wash cold, mild fragrance-free detergent — or mesh bag, delicate cycle
- Never wring or twist; reshape gently while damp
- Dry flat, easing the pattern back into place
- Don't iron directly — low heat, through a thin towel, if needed
- Store flat with acid-free tissue — never on a hook
Egyptian Cotton
- Machine wash cold, gentle cycle, like colors
- Mild detergent — skip fabric softener, it kills the breathability
- Tumble dry low, or line dry for longest life
- Remove promptly to minimize wrinkling
- Iron on medium, slightly damp, if needed
Storage, Across All Three
Out of direct sun. Out of humidity. Out of synthetic bags that trap moisture. Natural fiber needs to breathe even at rest.
